Best Caffeine Gum in 2026: 5 Options Compared

Instant Energy Gum sour apple 15-piece pack

Full disclosure: we make Instant Energy Gum, one of the gums below. We stuck to things you can check on a label or a manufacturer page, and we say where our own gum is not the right pick. Details come from manufacturer and retailer listings as of September 2026. Formulas change, so read the label before you buy.

Caffeine gum is not one product. Doses run from 40 mg to 100 mg a piece, and the extras, sweeteners and flavors vary a lot. Here are five options side by side. New to caffeine gum? Start with how caffeine gum works.

The gums, one by one

Instant Energy Gum

Each piece has 100 mg of natural caffeine from green coffee bean extract, plus 25 mg of magnesium and Himalayan pink salt. It is sugar free, sweetened with xylitol, maltitol and sucralose, with no aspartame, no food dyes and no artificial flavors, and every ingredient is printed on the wrapper. It comes in sour apple, 15 pieces to a bag. See the full label on the what's inside page or browse our sugar-free energy gum.

Where it is not the pick: we have one flavor right now, sour apple, so if you want mint you will want another brand. It also uses sugar alcohols, which can upset some stomachs in large amounts, and xylitol is dangerous for dogs.

MEG (Military Energy Gum)

MEG has 100 mg of caffeine per piece and is sold in mint and cinnamon flavors. Some of its listings carry an NSF Certified for Sport label, which matters if you compete in a tested sport and want an independently certified product. That certification is the reason to look at MEG first.

REV Gum

REV sells two strengths: 60 mg per piece in its Performance line and 100 mg in Extra Strength. Both come in polar mint and spearmint, and the multipacks hold 72 pieces. That range makes it easy to start lower and move up, and easy to stock up.

Neuro Energy & Focus

Neuro pairs 40 mg of natural caffeine with 60 mg of L-theanine and vitamins B6 and B12, per its retail listings. The lower dose and the L-theanine make it the mildest option here. It also sells an Extra Strength version with 100 mg of caffeine.

Run Gum

Run Gum has 50 mg of caffeine per piece with taurine and B vitamins. It comes in mint, cinnamon, fruit and bubblegum flavors, so it has the widest flavor range on this list. The 50 mg dose sits about halfway between Neuro and the 100 mg gums.

How to choose a caffeine gum

  • Match the dose to your tolerance. A 100 mg piece has about as much caffeine as a cup of brewed coffee (96 mg for 8 ounces, per the Mayo Clinic). If you are sensitive to caffeine, start with 40 to 60 mg.
  • Count your whole day. The FDA says up to 400 mg a day is not generally associated with dangerous effects for most healthy adults. That includes coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks and gum.
  • Read the sweeteners. Most sugar-free gums use sugar alcohols such as xylitol or maltitol, which can upset your stomach in large amounts.
  • Look for testing if you compete. If your sport tests athletes, look for a certification such as NSF Certified for Sport.
  • Pick a flavor you will chew. Mint is the default in this category. Fruit and sour flavors are rarer.
  • Check who it is for. Caffeine gum is not for children under 18, or for anyone pregnant, nursing or sensitive to caffeine without a doctor's okay.

The bottom line

  • Want a lower dose with L-theanine? Neuro.
  • Want independent certification for sport? MEG.
  • Want to pick your strength or buy in bulk? REV.
  • Want a moderate dose with the most flavors? Run Gum.
  • Want a full 100 mg dose in sour apple, with electrolytes and the whole label printed out? That is us.
